So you can either run Kubuntu in XOrg mode or disable kscreen2.

I downloaded Linux Mint Cinnamon and will give that a try. I’ve heard good things about it and want to check it out.

Were you able to resolve your VirtualBox problems?

I’m just thinking of all the different ways “resolved” can be interpreted by someone finding the thread with a similar issue.

Thanks for checking in. Issue resolved. As you saw in an earlier post, Kubuntu has an unresolved bug that prevents it from changing screen resolution in Virtual Box. So the solution was to drop Kubuntu and use another distro. So not really a direct solution, but a workable solution.

I installed Linux Mint into Virtual Box and it’s working good so far. Thanks for your support! You and others on this forum have helped me (a Linux newbie) make a good start with Linux.

What you’re referencing gives two realtively simple methods to get around the VirtualBox bug in Kubuntu:

That said… i’d probably also use a different distro given your situation.
