Zork series has been open sourced by Microsoft under MIT licensing.
This Open source spree that Microsoft started looks like continuing.
I wasn’t even aware that Microsoft owned Zork. But makes sense. Activision acquired Infocom way back in 1986 and more recently Microsoft acquired Activision.
And Zork isn’t going to get Microsoft out of the black hole they will be in when the AI bubble bursts, (pure speculation on my part) so why not open source it.
I can now make every virtual desktop on my pc a room out of Zork 1 to celebrate.
Desktop 1: you are west of house. There is a letterbox here..
