Virt Manager and Libvirtd - Ryan

Can’t disagree. Virt Manager is awesome, particularly since it’s managing the hypervisor that’s baked into the kernel. Nothing like running your VM’s as close to the hardware as possible.

However, I have to point out that there is a bit of a learning curve, particularly with regards to storage and networking, for someone coming from something like VirtualBox or VMware Workstation to a Libvirtd (KVM/Qemu) and Virt Manager setup.

VirtualBox isn’t a bad product. Gets the job done and is much easier for newbies. And they recently started supporting nested virtualization.

Love the show. Never get to catch it live as I live and work in Japan. But happy to listen to the recorded versions and be involved in the Discourse forums.
