I am waiting for wayland to fully mature (screen sharing, gpu support, etc.) before switching over. I discovered a new utility for i3 called autotile which (as implied by the name) adds automatic window placement a la bspwm to i3.
Isn’t i3 a dynamic tiler? As in it automatically tiles and adjusts on the fly. How is it different?
No, i3 is a manual tiler. Windows go in a single direction until you tell it otherwise. autotiler makes it behave like awesomewm or bspwm.
