Restrict Gnome Shell's Activities Overview to Single Monitor?

Does anyone know of a way to restrict gnome shell’s activities overview to a single monitor or disable it on a specific monitor on a multi-monitor setup? I’m in a situation where I sometimes use my computer while my family watches a movie on a different monitor and don’t want to disturb them watching when I toggle activities overview.

Is there a setting in dconf or an extension or something? I tried looking around but I can’t find anything. I’m considering writing an extension for my use case as a last resort.

A quick search revealed nothing to me, so it doesn’t look like it exists yet.

Can probably be implemented as an extension. Seems that the entire shell is configurable with that.

It seems writing an extension is the only way. I’ve been scouring for a solution for a while now to no avail.
