Hey! Recently I bought a 2TB nvme drive and attempted to install Start9 for a home server. Later changed my mind and decided to use that drive to re-install and OS on the main desktop. After installing it in the desktop, I went to clear out the partitions and found out that one of the partitions had been setup as a LVM physical volume by Start9. Gparted recommended against deleting that partition on the basis it could damage the volume group.
I’m unfamiliar with LVM. Of course I’ve seen the option to setup LVM when doing Linux installs, but haven’t ventured into it before. After doing some research, I see how powerful it is and may use it in the future.
I have done some research into managing LVMs but just don’t want to do anything that will damage the nvme. I want to completely remove the LVM and metadata from the drive.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
