Is there a more private alternative to something like Shutterfly? Looking to print some photos, but don’t know if anything like that exists.

Well, you have to trust any place that you have images printed at. I have used https://www.nationsphotolab.com/ for prints.
I use my local photography store.
I can inspect the prints they make and if needed can correct directly.
It also keeps a local place of knowledge in business.
It helps they’re only a little more expensive and that is worth it for being able to actually speak to the people printing my photos.
