Old Netgear Switch FSM750S password reset

Hi,
I recently inherited an old Netgear Switch FSM750S and I want to play with it but it has password. I have tried already the admin: " ", admin: 1234, admin: password, and so on without any luck. I haven’t found a way in on the manuals either.
Please help if you know.
Regards

My friend, I have (possibly) bad news. While I can’t walk you through this, I want you to know I believe in you.

You need a null-modem cable, a terminal emulator, and some can-do attitude.

Relevent NETGEAR documentation

Possibly relevent knowledge base article
Refer to page 4-1 in the user manual for connection details.

According to the installation manual there is no default password protection and the credentials are “Admin” and “1234”.

Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply.
In this case there is one but all it does is restart the switch, it doesn’t erase configs in it.

Thanks for your reply.
I got an RS232-USB cable and I have been trying but no luck so far, can’t delete the old password. I haven’t tried using Windows tho.

Using “tip” this way:
sudo tio -b 9600 /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Prolific_Technology_Inc._USB-Serial_Controller_D-if00-port0

This is what I can see but I’m unable to do anything else

Have you tried the 30-30-30 reset method?

Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds
While still holding the button down, remove the power and keep holding the reset button for 30 seconds
While still yet holding the button down, power the device on and keep holding the reset button and a final 30 seconds, Then release it.

You may have to do a final power cycle.

Someone can correct me because I’m probably wrong, but I believe you need a null-modem (crossover) cable and not a straight-through cable.

The fact is he seeing a response could be indicative it is connected correctly.

I don’t know for sure.
