I’ll share an old system I have with F34 on it I have setup for retro games.

It is the only system with a DVD player so I wanted to also use it for ripping DVD. I might switch to using MakeMKV instead of handbrake, the colors seem a bit inconsistent, sometimes slight purple, slight green. Using MPEG-2 and tried various other formats that use over 2GB for a 20 minute episode.

Because Fedora is so out of date, I’m using debian as a dualboot, just to install software from a repository, instead of who knows how many upgrade cycles I’d have to download to do so in Fedora.

I tried to upgrade the amd cpu, maybe bent some pins on the two CPU i bought and couldn’t get it to work, ended up breaking the cheap plastic pin grid over the socket, and I decided to replace the whole board. I wasn’t sure what else to do, but looking back I probably cpu super-glued the plastic and tried to fix it.

I believe I’m still using the original CPU and memory with some I added, and it has a decent RX amd gpu in it. Good little system for basic tasks, a shame a motherboard went to the landfill and I lost the two CPU I bought, no idea where they went, had them in a drawer and couldn’t find them again.

I have some old games to play, but I can’t remember how to add gamecube and ps2 support to retroarch, I haven’t spent much time getting it all setup, and have tried Batocera as well, but had too many issues having to leave the custom interface to add files.

@How_many_servers do you have photos of the setup?

Is it cool if I just show off the case and mainboard side? I don’t want to share my personal setup, it’s just a large monitor on a desk, nothing really interesting.

I’ll share some screenshots though

@How_many_servers you are welcome to share whatever you want. To be featured on the show we would need more to discuss but you could share it anyway
