I really hope someone else is picking up and continuing the work.
Otherwise, it’ll be a big loss, at least for me.
Agreed, Latte Dock seems to be very popular.
Yeah, I’ve been using everyday on all my KDE based installations, for the last 2.5-3 years.
The usage of the KDE desktop was for me largely dependent on Latte Dock and it’s functions.
But we’ll see, hopefully someone continues his work.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the windows and OS X environments. The OS X environment, IMHO, was much more productive so my Linux desktops have always taken on more of an OS X look.
Up until recently, I’ve always used some sort of dock, but I’ve gotten away from that. I’ve slowly moved to more of a minimalist look and I rely on the KDE App Dashboard for any app launching needs.
For me, it’s quicker to use the Super key to open the App Dashboard and type a few letters of the app I want to launch.
I did give Activities a try, but in my experience, it was a bit too inconsistent. I may give it another try at some point. For now, switching between four virtual desktops works for me.
I hear ya! plank is pretty good, but not as good as Latte. hopefully someone will pick up the Dev
