How do I test if I am a victim of Zero Day Attack?
Hey Fred, welcome back to the forum! It’s hard to answer that question because a Zero Day is a term to describe a type of event not a specific event so you would need to run a test on your computer based on a specific event. while not the same thing but still related, https://haveibeenpowned.com is a good place to find if you are in data breaches and which ones
Thanks for the quick reply. I seem to remember clicking on a http warning page to go ahead any way in Firefox and ending up on a local host type page.
I subscribed to haveIbeenpowned. I do not know if it will help but I just installed chkrootkit and Linux Malware Detect.
Hopefully I have learned my lesson and will not do it again,
George
I am not sure why this would happen, I didnt put https in front but it should have auto added that.
haveibeenpowned is not about your system, it’s about your data so you can see if it is out there and make changes if it is.
I’ve not used that before, not sure what the reliability of that is.
I have not heard of that
I am curious, what did you do?
Linux is not invincible from malware but it is very rare so I am curious why you are asking.
Quick Note: a Zero Day is not something you can do, this is a flaw found in software so badly that it needs to be patched. This is not something a user can do unless they just dont update for the fix.
Perhaps I misunderstood Destination Linux episode 385
