So Google makes a decision for Chrome that will effect Chrome / Chromium and also 90 percent of the browsers on Linux.
Does not effect Firefox or Webkit I know, or Safari, but every browser based on Chrome or Chromium. So with one decision Google has a major effect on the direction of Linux and support for projects around some image formats.
