RE: FreeCad

For floor planning you would be better off using SweetHome3D which allows you to draw a floor plan and place objects walls surfaces and texture and visualise it in 3D

You can easily knock up shapes and objects either in Wings3D

or even Google’s Blocks.

And then import them as furniture into SweetHiome3D

FreeCad Is very sophisticated and a parametric modelling program so it needs a programming mindset as you are , describing a model rather than shaping it.

Instead of FreeCad why not Blender ?

Thanks, @veritanuda and @Definitive_Linux I will look into those options. I’ve gotten busy enough (sorry it took me so long to respond here) that I haven’t even played with FreeCAD more. However, the new guinea pig cage is built!
