Cloudflare blocks browsers with privacy.resistFingerprinting = true

For about a month already (GitLab issue) Cloudflare blocks browsers with privacy.resistFingerprinting = true (Tor has in enabled by default, and AFAIK LibreWolf, too).

It seems there is no official reply yet from GitLab (although this not only affects GitLab but many websites) or Cloudflare.
Also from the issues (Mozilla tracker) and linked discussions it looks like this was not an intentional move by Cloudflare.

I think it’s strange that we haven’t seen any news on the topic, and seemingly no reaction from website owners, or did I just miss them?

Great, more websites I won’t be able to get to…sorry cloudflare, but security is not optional.

This will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

I recent bought some tech over at https://swappa.com. Here is my typical response from that site:

  • at first I was shocked that I just shared my ip address, but then I realized, that won’t be my ip address in another 5 minutes. so, no worries.
