[SOLVED] Thinkpad T14 AMD Gen1 - cannot get sleep to work

Hi DLNers,

I have a brand new Thinkpad T14 AMD Gen 1 using default settings.

Sleep doesn’t work:

  • Fedora 33 Workstation snapshot ISO: screen goes blank but power light does not shift to glowing mode, and is solid on. If you leave it in this state for 15 secs or more, it is non-recoverable. The power light is solid on, but key strokes don’t wake the system up.
  • Ubuntu 20.04.1 Live: screen switches to bliinking cursor, clearly the laptop has not gone to sleep, and power light is solid on.

Any troubleshooting tips?

Found a workaround: BIOS → Config → Power → Sleep State → “Linux” or “Windows”; choosing “Linux” makes Sleep work. :grinning:
