Signal has group video calls now. Have you tried it yet? How is this feature working for you?

Hello everyone. Signal claims to support group video chat in their newest release of Signal!

There is a catch, however. This video group calling feature only works within newly created groups. “Group calls are only supported in new style Signal groups.”

The latest version for mobile (at least, in Android) is 5.0.8. The latest Desktop version is 1.39.4 (See Help → About Signal Desktop).

Anyone tried this out? How reliable are the video calls for you, when in a group? How many participants have you managed to get functionally working, in a group video call?

That is something I am also interested in. I have not tried it yet and we are really trying to find a good solution here for our classes that are compliant with EU law and Signal as far as I know is.
