I thought this was an afternoon (2-3 PM) type show, you all must get up a 6:30 and start early. Actually it must be earlier than that, this post was five hours ago and it’s not even noon yet!
Is this a new schedule, or has it generally been earlier in the day that you record?
The process to make this show is a lot more complicated, it’s a multi-day process.
Day 1: pick topics and write the show notes
Day 2: record the episode
Day 3: edit the episode
Day 4: publish the episode
We always release on Mondays but usually the time fluctuates depending on the editing time but we always plan for a morning release.
Regarding Michael’s comment about OBS global shortcuts, at the end of the show: I was pretty sure this was already fixed - as there is a Wayland protocol for global shortcuts, and I’m a very light user of OBS and never used global shortcuts so I wasn’t following the status of that.
If this is indeed still a problem, then a common solution is indeed to disable OBS access to the Wayland socket - using Plasma System Settings “Flatpak Permissions” - then go to the “Legacy X11 App Support” section and set “Allow legacy X11 apps to read keystrokes typed in all apps” to “Always”.
The other workaround is to use the OBS websocket control API to wire certain commands through Plasma’s global shortcuts “run script” feature, as explained here: obs-wayland-shortcuts · main · Andrew Shark / OBS Scripts · GitLab
I did this in Fedora KDE and used the settings to make this work…and it did but then OBS broke during streaming so I lost all of the recordings and had to do the entire episode of TWIL again … so I stopped trying to make it work
